The first thing you’ll need is a curriculum. Many different options are available, including online programs, textbooks, and workbooks. It’s essential to choose a curriculum that aligns with your child’s learning style and interests. I like the “creative curriculum”. it’s based on children learning through play. However, the way I teach my children is by picking and choosing pieces from different curriculums and putting together what works best for my children. I also incorporate religion into my children’s curriculum. Here’s a link to some of the curriculums that I chose from. I love choosing from these Toddler curricula and Early Grade School/Religious Curriculums

You’ll need basic school supplies like pencils, paper, and notebooks. You may also need more specialized supplies depending on the curriculum you choose. For example, you may need a mini microscope or other scientific equipment if you’re teaching science. when starting out, I love to use busy workbooks. I especially love these custom-made busy workbooks from Etsy. It makes the learning experience more engaging for my littles, especially when they get to work with their favorite characters. These books make it easy to get your kids into the grove of learning and school.

Books are an essential part of any homeschooling curriculum. You can purchase books or borrow them from your local library. It’s important to have a variety of books on hand to keep your child engaged and interested.

You can also sign your children up for Dolly Partons Imagination Library where your child gets a free book in the mail monthly. Click here to sign up today! My children, especially my baby girl loves getting mail and seeing a new book just for her.

There’s also amazon kindle to read a whole library’s worth of books digitally. You can click here to get started with Kindle. My children love picking out a book to read. the choices are endless.

My children love listening to books the most. Daily, they have a moment where they listen to Storytime With Ms. Tee. There are awesome books that are read aloud that my kids really enjoy.

In today’s world, technology is an essential part of education. You’ll need a computer or tablet for your child to access online resources and complete assignments. You may also need a printer for printing out worksheets and other materials. You can also read about why TV is good for your baby here.

I love the amazon kids fire. It comes with a case with 3 colors to choose from, has apps, games, stories, and age-appropriate content, and you can fully control the screen time from the device or your device (phone). You can get apps and games to coincide with their curriculum. My favorite game for my toddlers is monkey preschool. All of the basics are in one game.

5. Art Supplies

Art is an important part of a well-rounded education. Make sure you have a variety of art supplies on hand, including markers, crayons, paint, and construction paper. I like to buy art kits because all of the supplies are in one box. Yes, you may need to buy extra supplies, but it’s better than buying everything separately.

6. Manipulatives

Manipulatives are hands-on tools that help your child learn math and other subjects. Examples include counting blocks, base 10 blocks, and tiles. Personally, I love bristle and waffle blocks, magna tiles, and things to weave. This keeps the brain and fingers moving. Also, consider sensory bins to add to your curriculum and your day. everyone needs a brain break.

7. Music Supplies

Music is another important part of a well-rounded education. You’ll need music supplies like a keyboard or guitar for your child to practice and learn. This drum is my favorite. it has all of the instruments in one and you can conduct a whole parade with the instruments included in the drum!

8. Outdoor Supplies

It’s important to get your child outside and active. You’ll need outdoor supplies like a ball, jump rope, and sidewalk chalk to encourage outdoor play and exercise.

we want to keep it simple for the little ones so I want to share with you what worked best for me and my 3 munchkins. I love to set up obstacle courses with my littles, so we have this kit that works great in the yard. We also got a bag of various balls to just throw around and have fun with.

Homeschooling your younger child can be a rewarding and challenging experience. Having the right materials on hand can create a successful learning environment for your child. Remember, every child is different, so finding the right materials and curriculum for your child may take some trial and error. Good luck on your homeschooling journey!
