Hello, expecting mothers! As a new mom myself, I know how overwhelming it can be to create a baby registry. With so many products on the market, it’s hard to determine what your newborn really needs. That’s why I’d like to offer some essential items from a mother’s point of view.
First and foremost, you will need a high-quality crib and mattress. Your baby will spend a lot of time sleeping, so it is crucial to invest in a secure and comfortable sleeping area. Look for a crib that meets safety standards and has adjustable mattress heights.
Personally, I love a convertible crib. I like the all-in-one that would last for some time. My go-to is Graco. However, there are more modern cribs that are on the market that would help aid you. there are sleepers that attach to your bed, and stand-alone. I started my little ones out in a Graco bassinet pack-and-play, and they graduated to a Graco convertible crib. Some cribs come with a mattress, but I’ve brought this mattress in the past.
Next, consider purchasing a baby carrier or wrap. These can be a lifesaver when you need to keep your hands free while holding your baby close. Many different types are available, so be sure to research and find one that suits you and your baby’s needs. My favorite is the baby k’tan. It’s adjustable, easy to put on, and you can wear your baby, save your back, and enjoy your baby close to you while you still work.
One vital item to make sure you have is a dependable car seat. You will need one to safely transport your baby home from the hospital and for every car ride afterward. Look for one that meets safety standards and can be easily installed in your vehicle.
Another vital item is a Kiinde starter set. This set can go for formula and breast milk. I don’t know how I would’ve survived without it. You don’t have to constantly wash bottles. It comes with disposable bags with attachable nipples. Not to mention it is compatible with any machine. It comes with a bottle warmer, adapters, milk organizer, different size nipples, cleaners, and components for starting solids. The best part of this set is if you get government assistance, or have an HSA account, you can get this set for FREE! There are a bunch of other accessories you can buy as well.
For breastfeeding mothers, a nursing pillow can provide substantial support for your baby while also reducing strain on your back and arms. Additionally, it can be used as a tummy time aid as your baby grows. I love myself a boppy. they last and are easy to wash. You can also invest in cordless breast pumps for maximum mobility. I love this set. For more tips and products to help with breastfeeding check out:

Other helpful items to consider include a diaper pail, diaper bag, baby monitor, baby bathtub, burp cloths, and swaddle blankets. And of course, do not forget about the basics like diapers, wipes, baby first aid kit and onesies – you will need an ample supply of those as well!
Remember, every baby and family is unique, so what works for me may not work for you. Be sure to conduct your own research and choose items that align with your lifestyle and requirements. Above all, cherish this special time with your new little one!
